ADVENTURE LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS

Challenge yourself to take the next step - and never look back!  From the remote reaches of the wilderness to the bustling streets and natural parks of you own neighborhood, you'll face challenges as a leader, an individual, and an innovator.  Develop community, build bonds, and discover what it means to go...

In the summer of 2011, Outward Bound Philadelphia will offer a unique opportunity for youth aged 12-15 who have a love of the outdoors and who seek adventure and challenge.

Running for four consecutive weeks, the Adventure Leadership Program (ALP) will offer week-long skill clinics in camping, climbing, canoeing, environmental education, and wilderness safety.  Outward Bound's instructors are trained and certified in a wide array of outdoor specialties.

ALP will provide challenging experiences for young people while maintaining Outward Bound's high standard of safety.  Youth who enroll in ALP will learn Outward Bound's inclusive leadership technieques, teamwork skills, Leave No Trace outdoor ethics, and self-discovery through technical mastery and real-life experiences in and around Philadelphia's Fairmount Park.

Sessions will run 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with one overnight expedition each week.  Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Cost per session: $395
(Scholarships may be available for those who qualify.)
